Frequently Asked Questions
What therapeutic approaches do you use?
In working with couples, I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy and draw from Attachment Theory. Emotionally Focused Therapy seeks to help couples develop awareness of emotions underlying the couple’s interactions, build emotional attachment and responsiveness between partners, and repair emotional wounds.
Is Couples Therapy covered by insurance?
Please note that this is not a service reimbursable by insurance. Insurance only reimburses for treatment of a diagnosable mental health condition. Couples therapy will be self-pay only.
What about family relationships?
Couple relationships are not the only relationships that may struggle with difficulty or disconnection. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I am happy to work with other relationships within the family system. This may include relationships between adult siblings, parents and adult children, etc. If you are seeking therapy for a relationship within the family unit, please feel free to contact me and we can discuss how therapy can best serve your goals.
